Chicken
Cooking food at home shouldn't be a dreaded situation when it is high time to do so. Many households of today follow unhealthy eating habits, but this can change if only food is cooked and served at home. One of the best things you can do to start with is to learn cooking with easy chicken recipes. Literally, there are numerous recipes for chicken dishes alone and you won't run out of cookbooks and websites to search through for dishes you'd like to try yourself.

Here are some tips in upgrading simple chicken dishes to turn them into festive meals:
[1] Use herbs and spices to create a variety of roast chicken
Roast chicken is the easiest and fuss-free dish you can prepare in very little time. Though cooking time may take almost an hour or more, prepping this dish and its vegetable accompaniment only takes a few minutes. Using aromatic herbs like rosemary, thyme, oregano, onions, garlic, lemon, lime and chives can do wonders each time you cook chicken in the oven. A combination of any of these herbs can be coupled up with spices such as cracked black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili flakes, paprika, cumin, or dry ground mustard will surely add depth in the flavor and aroma of the chicken roasting in the oven.

These herbs and spices can take your everyday roast chicken into new heights as the flavors take your palates to various regions and continents. The roasting vegetables can be as is as they also take up the flavors of the aromatics as they roast together.

[2] Jazz up salads with left-over roast or fried chicken
Left-over chicken pieces which were previously roasted or fried can add flavor and substance in any regular salad. This can be a complete meal on its own when added with nuts, toasted tortilla, or croutons. The dressing should not be very overpowering because it can mask the flavors of the vegetables and chicken, so go steady with the spices and flavorings. Stick with simple vinaigrette or light mustard dressing complemented with salt and pepper for flavor.

[3] Go international with your usual fried chicken
We all love fried chicken and it is a given. But you can always jazz it up by using spices in the marinade, breading, and sauce. If you've had enough of the usual gravy, go Korean style with sweet-spicy Korean bulgogi sauce. Or go to Italia with a delicious tomato and basil sauce to top off that butterfly chicken fillet over rice. If you love super crispy fried chicken, use rice flour with a bit of salt and pepper to taste before frying. You can also use spices for Jerk chicken in the marinade and/or dipping sauce.

Accompanying your fried chicken with rice, pasta with olive oil, couscous, and flat bread are also ideal each time you serve the dish.

There are so many things you can do with many easy chicken recipes that exist today. You need to play around with flavors and experiment with spices and ingredients in order to achieve a variety of dishes. The best part of this is not having to worry each and every day on what to cook and serve to your family.
