Eating out on a regular basis takes a chunk out of the monthly
budget. However, after a long day at the office, the idea of going home
and putting an evening meal together is simply too tiring to think
about.
The crockpot is a cooking appliance that has been around for several years. Around 1970, the Rival Company® bought a company called Naxon, which was responsible for the invention of the "Beanery All Purpose Cooker."
In 1971, Rival® reintroduced the cooker under the name "Crock-Pot." It wasn't until 1974 the upgrade was made that provided removable, and easier to wash, stoneware cooking inserts. Even though "crock-pot" is a trade name given to the appliance by Rival®, it is a term used commonly today to describe any brand of this handy kitchen helper.
Crockpots are great for soups, meats, main dishes, vegetables, dips, side dishes, and even desserts. These kitchen wonders cook on low wattage and very slowly, making them economical to use.
Here's a quick and easy dish for those busy working folks who need a delicious dinner but don't want to spend hours in the kitchen.
