Why Upsizing Your Food is a Mistake You Cannot Afford to Make If You Want Successful Weight Loss

In the US alone, supersizing is a huge problem that contributes towards obesity in young children and adults. The more we eat this amount of food, the more our bodies get used to it and expect it. Our stomachs get larger to compensate for more food, and thus we put on more weight and continue to get larger.

Weight Loss

This result alone is the very reason why the diet and fitness industry is a multi-billion dollar industry - because there are literally millions of people who eat super size meals every day and then want to turn to someone who can help them lose all the extra weight they have put on from it.

An example of how much portion size affects your weight is this. A leading fast food outlet has large fries at approximately 450 calories per serve - now couple this with a burger, soda and desert - you have all of your total calories for one day in just one meal - and you still have the rest of the day to go yet for other meals. So you can see from this simple example why obesity is so common, and how easy it si to put on weight.

The simple solution to at least half of this problem is to not super size any more and go for the smaller serves - of everything. We need to get back to better health choices, and re educate ourselves on eating smaller is not only good for weight loss but very good for our general health and well being.

The other benefit to making smart choices for smaller portions is the reduction in health problems like high blood pressure, disease, skin conditions etc.
